Materials Engineering
Generally speaking, CTP is able to develop many types of materials (inert, with binding or structural effect) with specific properties and which incorporate waste or by-products: This expertise is focussed around the following elements:
- the characterization and processing of different 'ingredients' (production of powders, agglomerate or uniform mixtures, optimisation of granular skeleton, sequencing of additives, etc.);
- the understanding of mechanisms used to ensure cohesion within the material (natural or accelerated effect, stabilisation/solidification, inerting/encapsulation, monitoring of reactions through calorimetry, ATG, etc.);
- shaping (casting, pressing pelletizing, etc.) to obtain materials and their ultimate characterization (ability to withstand compression, leaching behaviour, etc.).
