BIOFACON3

The aim is to develop an economical and innovative physico-mechanical-chemical treatment process to improve the reactivity of biomass fly ash and then test its incorporation into mortar and/or concrete formulations. At the end of the project, this ash could be used as a supplementary cementitious material, replacing blast furnace slag or coal fly ash.

In collaboration with Uliège UEE, the CTP is contributing to the physical, chemical and mineralogical characterisation of fly ash, the development and selection of suitable treatments, and the study of their interactions with cementitious phases.
