MINERVE

Characterisation and optimisation of the processes, of mineralising of waste buried in engineered landfill sites and unsupervised landfill sites, with a view to reducing the ecological footprint through the valorisation of the associated renewable (biogas) and residual materials

The project’s ambition was to propose an integrated solution to the problem of the long-term management of landfill sites through the development of a methodology, and it thus adopted the perspective of shortening the life-cycle of waste disposed of by landfilling via the optimisation of the mineralisation (biochemical stabilisation) of this waste and the maximisation of its valorisation (energy, materials) via landfill mining, in this way reducing the overall environmental footprint and the related risks of pollution.
