RECYSTERIL

Separation and recycling of infectious hospital waste which has been decontaminated beforehand

This project aimed to provide an integrated and tested solution, both economically and environmentally efficient, to the management of infectious hospital waste. This solution aimed to reduce as far as possible the ultimate waste needing to be disposed of (incineration or landfill) in proposing a recycling (energy and materials) of this waste after decontamination (existing processes) and separation into recyclable fractions (prototype developed within the parameters of this project), whilst taking into account factors linked to collection and transport.
