ReIn-E

Recyclable Integrated Electronics

The ReIn-E project is a two-year European research programme, of the CORNET type, undertaken in partnership with SIRRIS and two German research institutes. It envisages the design of electronic parts directly integrating the electronics and the circuits into the polymer. This technology leads to new designs and allows for a reduction of the weight and the quantity of the materials employed. It however renders the recovery of end-of-life metals more difficult. The project is responding to this risk by testing an eco-design including an intermediate layer between the electronics and the polymer, which should facilitate their separation and de facto the recovery of the metals.
