ULTIREF

The objective of this project was the upcycling of refractory materials destined for landfill towards very high value-added applications. The aim was to develop an integrated solution to enable the reuse of waste streams produced by the maintenance and de-construction of furnaces, in this instance aluminium and  magnesium refractory materials . The stated ambition was complete control of the value chain, ranging from the replacement of used refractory materials to their treatment and their upcycling either as shaped or unshaped refractory materials, or as a secondary material.
