Developing an original technology dedicated to the stabilisation/solidification of soils heavily contaminated with heavy metals, based on the combined usage of a hydraulic binder and a geopolymer

The project’s goal was the formulation of an original stabilisation/solidification composition of clayey phases, concentrated in heavy metals, residual phases and pre-treatment of polluted soils. The ‘chemical’ pathway suggested consisted of combining the stabilising and inerting actions of hydraulic binders and geopolymers, both at ambient temperature, whilst retaining the qualities of durability in the product, enabling an onsite reuse in road engineering.
